Wylie Gene Bishop, 77, of Paragould, died Thursday January 17, 2013. Wylie was born to George Porter and Mable Irene (Newsom) Bishop January 3, 1936 in Paragould. Wylie was retired from Emerson Electric with almost 40 years of service and was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic in the Mash Unit in Korea. Wylie had a true compassion for the outdoors and loved to fish. Wylie is preceded in death by his parents Porter and Mable, his wife Barbara Sue (Swink) Bishop and three siblings Harry, Buddy and Jack Bishop. Wylie is survived by two daughters Pamela Bishop of Paragould, Vicki Bishop-Nigro and her husband Mike of Brookland, one grandson Logan Wylie Bishop, two sisters Evelyn Gamble of Little Rock and Betty Sue Barnett and her husband Richard of West Memphis. Services will be 1PM Monday, January 21 in the Heath Colonial Chapel with James Branscum and Bud Evans officiating, burial will follow in the New Friendship Cemetery.
