Woodrow Franklin Sparks, 72, of Paragould died Thursday at his residence. He was born September 19, 1935 in Flint, Michigan. He served his country in the United States Army. He retired after 32 years of employment with Roadway Express and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Woodrow was a member of Southside Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Martha McLeroy Sparks of the home; sons, John Sparks of Ozark, Missouri, Don Sparks of Paragould and Frank Sparks of Russellville; brothers, Harold Sparks of Cave City, Tom Sparks of Sheridan, Wyoming and Carl Sparks of San Antonio, Texas; and grandchildren, Christopher and Gracie Sparks. Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Sparks, Sr. and Mattie Loraine Yant Sparks; and brothers, John Henry Sparks, Jr., Cecil Sparks, and Thomas Christian Sparks. Funeral services will held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 26th at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverends Gary Hair and Charles Stoddard officiating. Burial will follow at Cardwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Heath Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be John, Tom, Carl and Christopher Sparks, Dean Cook and Ray McLeroy Memorials be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hosptial.
