Wilma Frances Petropoulos, 94, of Mount Vernon, Texas formerly of Sulphur Springs, passed away in the early evening hours of Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Mission Manor Nursing Home in Mount Vernon, surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was born on May 4, 1921, in Greene County, Arkansas to the late Clyde and Myrtle Noel Johnson. She retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan after 30 years as an inspector.

Wilma married Theodore Michael Petropoulos in Flint, Michigan and together spent over 40 years living a lifetime of memories; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Wilma was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. Wilma defined class and was by definition a good and faithful woman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Wilma is survived by one son, Jimmy Rowland, and wife Debbie, of Mount Vernon; one granddaughter, Sonja Bolton, and husband Terry of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchildren, Chainie Collins and husband Jason of Sulphur Springs, Chelbie Birdwell and husband Sonny of Atlanta, Texas, and Cherish Henderson, and husband Justin, of Shreveport, Louisiana; one great-great grandson Will Collins of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Delbert Johnson, and wife Betty Louise, of Burleson, Texas; three sisters, Faye Humphrey, and husband Bruce, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Betty Nichols, and husband James T., of Colleyville, Texas, and Wanda Bonney, and husband Marvin, of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and very special friends.

Wilma was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wade Delano Johnson and Jeff W. Johnson, and three sisters, Helen Penny, Dorothy Gillean, and Jean Bowden.

Funeral services for Wilma Petropoulos will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bolton officiating. A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 25, 2016 at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould, Arkansas under the direction of Heath Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Thursday afternoon, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 1314 CR 4870, Winnsboro, TX 75494.
