William Eugene Potter, 96, of Paragould, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was a craftsman and of the Baptist faith. Bill was a mason his entire life. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Bill served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant Combat Engineer during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He was the son of the late Willard and Leona Potter. Bill was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Rose Potter; brother, Bob Potter; and sister, Helen Steele.
Survivors include his daughters, Billie Redmon, Wright City, Missouri and Georgie Redmon, Paragould; brother, Charles (Jinny) Potter, Oklahoma City; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation is Wednesday at Lanman Funeral Home in Cherokee, Oklahoma. A graveside funeral will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Jet, Oklahoma. Send memorials to the World War II Museum in New Orleans.
