William "Bill" Cook passed away Saturday in Jonesboro at the age of 82. Bill was an Army veteran and also retired from Sara Lee Corporation after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, Mississippi. In his free time, Bill enjoyed fishing, a good cup of Starbucks coffee, and spending time with his beautiful grandchildren. He is the son of the late William and Irene Blazer Cook and is also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bradley and Mariam Shrum, and one stepson, Freddy Timothy Standard.
Survivors include wife, Carol Cook of the home; sons, Christopher Michael (Allison) Cook of Memphis and William Landon Cook of New Mexico; daughters, Bryan Ann Johnson of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota and Crystal Michelle (Bradley) Thomas of Little Rock; grandchildren, Roger James (Kali) Johnson, Bryce William Thomas, Colton Richard Thomas, and Thad Everett Cook; great granddaughter, Charlotte Noel Johnson; sisters, Maxine Fairchild of Mt. Ida, Barbara Voras of Shreveport, and Shirley (Bo) Gateley of North Little Rock; and brother, Curtis (Judy) Cook of North Little Rock.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1:00 pm with Bro. Anthony Pierce and Dr. Jerry Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sam King, Bradley Thomas, Ricky Sims, Jerry Thomas, Bryce Thomas, and Doug Speer. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Campbell and Weaver Majors. In lieu of flowers, please consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
