Wilburn "Bill" William Thomas

February 10, 1916 — September 28, 2011

Wilburn William "Bill" Thomas, 95, of Powhatan, died Wednesday, at Walnut Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Walnut Ridge. Bill was a retired automobile mechanic, enjoyed woodworking in his retirement years, and was an Army Veteran. Survivors include his daughter: Doris Thomas of Walnut Ridge; Son: Bill and Leta Thomas of Helotes, TX; brother: Lum Thomas of Lafe; stepchildren: Charles Rush of Lynn, Lynnette Smith of Williford, Curtis Rush of Rockford, Illinois, Lucinda Smith of Black Rock; fifteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, woodworking buddy, Carl Cook and the gang at Renee's Cafe. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Thomas, second wife, Laura Thomas, sister, Alice Rabe, Buelah Thomas, Virginia Bollinger, brother, Marlin Thomas and parents, Herman and Lucy Thomas. Arrangements are with Heath Funeral Home in Paragould. Friends and family will meet for a graveside service at Gainesville Cemetery, 2:00 PM, Saturday.
