Wanda Rhoads

Wanda Rhoads, 96, passed away Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. She was the daughter of the late William E. and Martha Frances Owens Breckenridge. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Slatton, and her second husband, Robert Rhoads, grandson, Ken Weaver, sisters, Louise Roberts and Lucille Adams, and her twin brother, Eugene Breckenridge.

Wanda worked at Dixie Dry Cleaners in Paragould for many years. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she was the secretary for 52 years. She enjoyed quilting and loved all types of animals. Up until this past week, she was living in her own home, writing cards, and working on a quilt.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Kay (Deannie) Howard, of Black Rock, Billie Deaver, of Paragould, and, Katie (Doyle) Grimes, of Paragould; son, George (Kathey) Rhoads, of Rogers; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Ruthie Grooms, of Paragould; brother, J.R. (Mary) Breckenridge, of Paragould; and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be begin at 10:00 am on Friday at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Shirley, Stan Deaver, Weldon Richardson, Ron McBride, Shannon Strope, and Eric Strope. Mrs. Rhoads wants everyone wear spring colors to the funeral service.

Mrs. Rhoads wants a motorcycle escort for her funeral procession. Anyone who is able to ride their motorcycle for her service may do so.
