Wanda (Pegg) Gibson

Wanda (Pegg) Gibson, 89 born on February 17, 1930, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was the daughter of the late John and Zula Owen Osburn. She is also preceded in death by husbands, Louis Darrel Pegg and Carroll W. Gibson; infant son, Barry Pegg; and siblings. Kenneth Osburn, Fleda Shearer, Betty Billington, Mildred Smith, and Wynona Thomson.

Survivors include son, Kenny (June) Pegg, of Paragould; daughter, Beverly (Fred) Dowless, of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Laura Pegg, Stephanie (Robert) Myers, and Kara (David)McElyea; great grandchildren, Jackson Pegg, Avery Myers, Alice McElyea, and Thomas McElyea; brother, Frank (Kathy) Osburn, of Summerville, South Carolina; sister, Pat Francis, of Paragould; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 am Monday at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Royce Schonda and Bro. Gerald Gregory officiating. Wanda was the ultimate caregiver. All of her life she took care of others. As the oldest girl sibling of eight, she was sister/caretaker of the younger ones. When her own children came along, her love and devotion totally covered all of their needs.

She used all the gifts God gave her to love and nourish her family, and that included her aging parents, mother-in-law, her extended family, and church family.
