Walter Wesley Sales, 71, of Jonesboro, went to be with our heavenly father on Sunday at St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was a loving father of four children. He worked at Arkansas Glass Container for 18 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1967 during war time. Walter was a Christian who was known by many as "the lawn mower man". He was preceded in death by his second wife, Ruth Clairday Sales; parents, Walter Clyde and Alpha Mettie Fortson Sales; and brothers, Clyde Clifford Sales, Evertt Leroy Sales, Donald Thomas Sales, Lenard Telmon Sales, and Charlie Ray Sales.
He lovingly left behind his children, Leslie Bottoms, Rebecca Dole, John Sales, and Sara Sales; his first wife, Freda Irby Sales; sister, Tular Strong; grandchildren, A.Nicole Jim, Darren Dole, Tanner Bottoms, Coleman Dole, Megan Bottoms, Jada Sales, and Lucas Hunt; 5 great grandchildren; and his dog, Tazz.
Visitation is Tuesday evening from 5-7 at Heath Funeral Home. The procession will leave at 9:45am Wednesday for a graveside funeral at 10 at Gainesville Cemetery.
