Walter Darrell Gatlin, Sr.

Walter Darrell Gatlin, Sr., 76, Paragould, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Darrell was born in Brookland. He was retired from Dr. Pepper Bottling Company after twenty years and then owned and operated his upholstery business. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Clayburne Gatlin, mother, Alice Barnett Norton, brothers, Kenneth Gatlin, Charles Gatlin, and sister, Sandra Magel. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela Ann and Tim Peterson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sheila Diane and Tim Hutcheson of Paragould, Kimberly Darlene and Fred Walsh of Arlington, Tennessee; son: Walter Gatlin, Jr. of Caraway, AR; sisters: Catherine and Chub Sharp of Paragould, Selma and Freddy Reno of St. Charles, Missouri, Ollie "Hoss" Wallace of Paragould; brother: Billie Gatlin; partner and friend: Martha Seats; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, at Heath Funeral Home. Following visitation, his life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:00 PM, Monday. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Wallace, Jasper Sharp, Tim Hutcheson, Fred Walsh, Gary Jeffers, and Walter Gatlin.
