Vonda Sue (White) Gregory left this world to join her beloved husband and parents on Saturday, October 30 at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness. She was at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House surrounded by loved ones.
Vonda Sue was born to Charlie and Ada Arnold White on March 6, 1941. She was a member of Grace United General Baptist Church in Paragould, AR.
After graduating from Lafe High School, she married Jerry Gregory, son of Irby and Leoffie Williams Gregory. They spent a lifetime in ministry together. Starting with Jerry serving as chaplain in Vietnam in 1967. Their ministry took them all over the country. St. Louis, MO: missionaries in Jamaica; Portland, TN; Mowequa, IL (twice); Clearwater, FL; and finally back to their home in Arkansas.
Sue had many ministries of her own along the way. She was a major advocate in Women's foreign Ministries and taught Children's ministries in church for many years. She also was able to start her first childcare center in Clearwater, FL. Upon returning to Arkansas, she knew she had a passion for children. She opened up Kids Korner in Rector, AR. Over the years she was able to touch over 800 children's lives. Amazing for such a small town.
Preceding her in death is her husband Jerry Gregory and parents Charlie and Ada Arnold White.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Gregory, Jr.; and daughter and son-in-law Janette and Boyce Hill, all of Paragould, AR.
Grandchildren, Leeann Gregory, Matthew Gregory, Tanner Hill, Keller Hill, Mackenzie Hill, Abby Hill. One great Grandson Teagan Hill.
Three sisters, Yvonne White Watson of Paragould, Elwanda (Bill) Reinhart of Lafe, and Joann (Larry) Norman of Jonesboro. Along with a host of nieces and nephews, and valued friends Mike and Carol Myers of Moweaqua, IL.
Vonda Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known as an encourager and helper for anything and anyone who was struggling. She was always ready for a trip with her three sisters even after she became ill. She would have her atlas out and the trip planned out. Even if her talking often got her sidetracked and ended up getting them lost.
