Virgil H. Rodgers, 88, of Paragould, died Saturday, at St Bernard’s Medical Center. He was service manager for Roland Motor Company. He is a World War II veteran serving in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean theaters. He was born September 11, 1921 in Grenada, Mississippi the son of the late Virgil and Cubbie Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his son, Virgil Rodgers and three sisters, Ruby Rodgers, Essie Alvano, and Ruth Jones. He is survived by his wife: Mary Agnes Rodgers of the home; sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Sherrell Rodgers of Jonesboro, Kenny and Brenda Rodgers of Bryant, Ronald and Patricia Rodgers of Blytheville; sisters: Carrie Little of Memphis, Arlene Fowler of Michigan City, IN, Peggy Beasley of Benton, Charlene Miller of Olive Branch, MS; brother: Earnest Rodgers of Melbourne; 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Tuesday, at Heath Funeral Home. Everyone will meet at Linwood Cemetery at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, for graveside service with Reverend Royce Boling officiating.
