Violet Mae Garner

Violet Mae Barnhill Garner, 85, Pocahontas, died Thursday at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab. She was born August 11, 1925 in Paragould the daughter of the late Houston "H. A." and Dora Barnes Barnhill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James J. Garner, infant daughter, Rebecca Garner, brothers, Roy, Olen and Harold. She is survived by her daughter: Joan Pruitt of Maumelle; sons and daughters-in-law: James H. and Jeanine Garner of Machiasport, Maine, Larry G. and Brenda Garner of Jonesboro, Gary M. and Gail Garner of Millport, Alabama, Randy G. and Robin Garner of Doniphan, Missouri; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Sunday at Heath Colonial Chapel with a celebration of her life following at 2:00PM. Reverend Jason Noel will officiate with Jimmy Garner, Mike Garner, David Argo, David Joe Hicklin, Garner Pruitt, and Jeff Weldon will be pallbearers. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
