Vernon Lee "Sandy" Day, Jr., of Paragould passed away Monday evening. He was born in Germany, and was a retired tow motor driver for Monroe Automotive. He loved Star Trek, St. Louis Cardinals, and politics. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon, Sr., and Melba Walker Day.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Day; sons, Chris (Dina) Day of Denver, CO., and Anthony "Todd" (Linda) Day of Paragould; daughter, Dee Dee (Billy) Ellis of Lafe; sister, Sharon Swinger of Poplar Bluff, MO; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 - 2 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 in the chapel with Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Day, Anthony Day, Billy Ellis, Randy Cooper, Jerry Kersey, and David Fultz. David Ellis will serve as Honorary pallbearer.
