Vernon Ray Sims

Vernon Ray Sims, 80 of Paragould, died Friday at Greene Acres Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Vernon was born January 15, 1935, in Cardwell, MO to Graham and Iva Sanders Sims. He was preceded by his parents; wife “JoAnn” Watson Sims; sister, Reba Flanrey; brothers, Harold and Jerry Sims; brother-in-law, Phillip Martin; sister-in-law Joyce Sims. His best friend, Bill Garner. Survivors include daughter, Mitzie (Roger) Reddick of Paragould; sister, Donna Martin of Paragould; brother-in-law, J. D. Flanrey; sister-in-law, Patty Sims. Granddaughters, Kasey Reddick and Breanne (Dex) Gardner; great granddaughter, Emilee Gardner. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30-2:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Woods Chapel Cemetery with Brother Dave White officiating. Pallbearers will be Gregg and Aaron Garner, David Vanhorn, Terry Dillard, Ted and Troy Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Bob and Mike Huffman, Bob Peel and Dennis Hendley.
