Truley L Mangrum, 81, of Cardwell, passed from this life on Friday, November 4, 2022. She was born in Paragould on October 24, 1941, to the late John and Lola Barnes. Truley graduated from Oak Grove High School. She married Gene Mangrum on August 25, 1960. They had four children. She spent many years as a homemaker raising her children. Later, she went to work at the Kroger deli as a cake decorator. In her spare time, she loved to quilt. In her lifetime, she had made hundreds of quilt tops. She could sew anything, having made numerous clothes over the years. Truley enjoyed reading and family time. She was not a fan of pictures, and she would often hide once a camera was came around. She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Lola Barnes; husband, Floyd "Gene" Eugene Mangrum; grandson, Jacob Mangrum; brother, Walter Barnes; and son-in-law, David West.
Truley is survived by children, Wendell (Debbie) Mangrum of Paragould, Chris (James) Dickerson of Carmi, Illinois, Kathi West of St. Robert, Missouri, and Richard Mangrum of Cardwell; grandchildren, Amy (James) McCarther, Joshua Dickerson, David (Brianna) West II, and Shelby West; great grandchildren, Brice Meredith, Theodore West, and McKinley West; brother, Oliver Wendell Barnes; and sister, Dortha Free.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5-6 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 6 PM. Burial will be private.
