Thomas H. Brocksmith, 84, of Paragould, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at St Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Tom was born August 4, 1928 in Hammond, Indiana the son of the late Arthur L., Sr. and Elizabeth Fields Brocksmith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur L. Brocksmith, Jr. and sister, Dorothy Brocksmith. Tom was retired as a First Class Petty Officer, after twenty years from the United States Navy. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars in the Atlantic Theater and at the United States Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. After retirement from the service, he moved to Paragould to work at L.A. Darling Store Fixtures from where he retired in 1991. Tom was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and was also a Grand Knight. He is survived by his wife: Joan Bazzell Brocksmith of the home; son: Kevin Brocksmith; grandson: Dillon Brocksmith, both of West Memphis; and brother: James R. Brocksmith of Chandler, Arizona. There will be a public rosary Wednesday, from 6:00-6:30 PM at Heath Colonial Chapel. Visitation will follow from 6:30-8:00 PM at the chapel. His life will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10:30 AM, Thursday, with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Michael Johnson, Jeff Bazzell, Bill Burstyne, Jerry Hoepfl, Jim Cupp, Chip Dayton, Jeff Johnson, Trey Bazzell, David Cupp and Rick Phelps.
