Theresa El Maimouni, beloved mother, grandmother, GiGi, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2024, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 64. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 6, 1960, Theresa was a loving and devoted family woman who cherished time spent with her loved ones.
After working security for much of her life, Theresa recently dedicated herself to a career in hospital registration at AMMC, where she made a significant impact on the lives of those she encountered. Her kind and compassionate nature shone through in her work, and she was cherished by colleagues and patients alike.
Theresa's greatest joy in life stemmed from being a GiGi and grandma to her many descendants. Whether she was spending time with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, or friends, she exuded love, laughter, and a zest for life that was truly contagious.
Known for her vibrant sense of humor and her ability to bring joy to all those around her, Theresa will be remembered for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her grandmother, Valentina Gonzalez, and grandfather, Justo Gonzalez, who helped raise her; sister, Rita Villarreal; and brother, Justo "Jay" Gonzalez.
She leaves behind her mother, Maria (late, Pedro) Villarreal; daughters, Frances (James) Zavala and Rebecca Zavala; grandchildren, Alaina Perry, Adelia (Josh) Claudio, Pierre Perry, Jr., Darian (Alexis) Claudio, Pedro Perry, and Nathaniel Claudio; great-grandchildren, Zaiden Eason, Artist Dixon, Akious Eason, Kyson Claudio, Avery Dixon, Brylen Claudio, and Waylon Claudio; siblings, Petra (Paul) Villarreal, Manuel (Sally) Villarreal, Andres Villarreal, Rogelio Villarreal, Valentina Villarreal, Pedro (Jessie) Villarreal, Jr., Frances "Franny" (late, Eilario) Zavala, Richard Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez, and Adela Gonzalez; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, September 29, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Heath Funeral Home to honor and remember the beautiful legacy Theresa leaves behind.
In her lifetime, Theresa touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace, alongside the love of her life, Rogelio Zavala, her spirit forever bright in the hearts of those who loved her.
