Thelma Fay Merritt Hoggard Peterson, age 87, formerly of Paragould, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday evening in Cleveland. Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of the late Margie Hudson Merritt and Sam Merritt. Her husbands, Earl Hoggard, William Peterson, her brothers, Elmer, Jim, Oscar, Bob and J. B. Merritt, her son in law, Reverend David Shrable and her grand daughter, Treva Jan Shrable also preceded her in death. Mrs. Peterson was a professional seamstress for 10 years and she retired from the Kansas City, Kansas School Systems as head of the Janitorial Services. She served as an Evangelist and preached for many years. Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Wings of Faith Church of God in Ocala, Florida. Survivors include her daughter, Earlene Hoggard Shrable of Ocala, Florida, her son, Marvin Hoggard and his wife Doris of Paragould, Arkansas, her 8 grandchildren, her 26 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, her sisters, Alma Bailey and her husband Arnold of Flint, Michigan, Dorothy Williams from Clio, Michigan and several nieces and nephews also survive. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Pastor Rocky Shrable, Pastor Ryan Shrable, Pastor Kelvin Page and Pastor James Bancroft. Interment will follow at Finch Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 Thursday PM at Heath Funeral Home. Heath Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. The North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the Cleveland, TN arrangements.
