Coach Steve Garmrath, 60, of Paragould, passed from this life on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born on August 3, 1962, to the late Wayne and Geraldine Garmrath. He graduated Paragould High School in 1980, earned his bachelor's degree while playing football at the University of Central Arkansas, and then obtained his education degree from Arkansas State University. Steve became a teacher and coach, and he made a positive influence on numerous students and athletes during his coaching career. He had a passion for weather. He loved to go rock hunting and duck hunting. He was also a sports enthusiast. Although he loved these hobbies, his greatest love was for his family and his Savior. Steve accepted his salvation on August 14, 2017, and he began sharing Jesus with everyone. If he was not spending time with his cherished family, he could often be found at John 3:16 Ministries or Celebrate Recovery. His testimony and love for Christ led many people to the Lord. Steve loved to worship God, and now he is worshiping in the arms of Jesus.
Steve is survived by his sons, Tyler (Lauren) Garmrath, Alex (Summer) Garmrath, and John Koy Garmrath, all of Paragould; grandchildren, Luxie Garmrath, Benson Garmrath, Allie Huffine, and Lexi Huffine; the mother of his children, Lantha Garmrath; brother, Clifton (Sonja Tate) Garmrath; and nephew, Matthew Garmrath.
