Steve W. Jones

Steven Wayne Jones, 68, of Maumelle, formerly of Paragould, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He was born on January 15, 1954, to the late Luther Jones and Gayle Grubbe. He graduated from Greene County Tech in 1972 and Arkansas State University in 1976. He married Marcella McMillon on April 13, 1979. Steve was a successful business owner, and he was also a pilot. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, flying, fishing, hunting, water and snow skiing, and playing poker. His best friend, a lab named Mojo, was his sidekick. Steve took Mojo everywhere he went, and he always found a way to get Mojo inside restaurants and other businesses. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ginger Jones; half-brother, Jerimiah Jones; daughter-in-law, Julie Jones; and his best friend, Mojo.

Steve is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcella Jones; son, Kelly Jones of Paragould; daughters, Jennifer Paige Jones of Paragould and Claire Elise (Kyle) Russell of North Lake, Texas; grandchildren, Payton Oneal Potter, Kameron Jones, Cash Rains Jones, Adiyanna Jade Trammell, and Teddy Russell; sisters, Ann Mooney of Texas and Lana (Jim) Turner of Jonesboro; brothers, Andy Jones of Paragould and Tim (Lisa) Jones of Jonesboro; half-sister, Stephanie Jones; and many nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be Friday evening from 6:30-8pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Saturday at 11am at Heath Colonial Chapel with Jonathan Rogers and David Carwyle officiating. Burial will follow in Finch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Payton Potter, Cash Jones, Kameron Jones, Carrold Ray, Brett Morgan, and John Ussery. Honorary pallbearers are Kelly Jones, Marshall Bonderer, Tommy Murchison, Randy Reeves, Jason Roach, Doug Malestrom, and Larry Taylor.
