Shirley Jean Douglas

Shirley Jean Douglas peacefully passed away on December 27, 2023, in her hometown of Paragould. Born on August 1, 1935, Shirley was a woman of resilience, strength, and unwavering dedication. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering commitment to her family.

Shirley was a devoted mother, survived by her three daughters, Julie (Lesley) Jones, Felicia Douglas, and Angelia Garner, as well as her loving son, Tracy (Cathy) Douglas. She was also cherished by her sister, Katherine (Donnie) Miles; her five adoring grandchildren, Shiena (Mike) Swink, Maranda Robertson, Dustin (Shelbye) Jones, Nicholas (Jennifer) Jones, and Katie (Quoshon Gilespie) Jones; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Shirley's memory will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Shirley became a factory worker at Emerson Electric, where she dedicated 25 years of her life. Recognized for her strong work ethic, Shirley earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Outside of work, Shirley had a love for gardening. The beautiful blooms that adorned her yard were a testament to her nurturing spirit. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in indulging her creative passion for crafts, sewing, and baking. Shirley's home was filled with the aroma of freshly baked treats and the warmth of handmade treasures lovingly crafted for her loved ones.

Shirley's spare moments were often spent observing the majestic dance of birds in her backyard. She found solace in their graceful flight and found peace in the simplicity of nature's wonders. Above all, Shirley's dedication to her family was unparalleled. She embraced her role as a mother and grandmother, always providing unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love.

To celebrate and honor Shirley's life, funeral services will be held at Heath Funeral Home on December 30, 2023. A public viewing will take place at 12:00 pm. The funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm, where family, friends, and community members will come together to remember and pay tribute to Shirley's remarkable life. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
