Sharon Grimes

Sharon Kaye Grimes, a beloved member of the Paragould community, was born on January 2, 1947, and departed this life on December 8, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of her family and a devoted spouse to Steve Grimes. As the co-owner and operator of Grimes Can-Mart, Kaye poured her heart into her work while exemplifying the values of dedication and service that defined her life.

A faithful member of Grace United General Baptist Church, Kaye served as secretary, where her contributions were invaluable to the congregation. Her commitment to her faith and community inspired many, and she embraced every opportunity to lend a helping hand.

Kaye was known for her warm and inviting spirit, effortlessly making others feel welcome in her home. With a natural gift of hospitality, she delighted in cooking for family and friends. Her culinary creations were as generous as her heart, and gatherings at her table were filled with love and laughter.

An avid gardener, Kaye found joy in tending to her flower beds, cultivating beauty both inside and outside her home, which she kept immaculate. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her garden, as she took pride in being a loving mother to her daughters, Kayla Graper and Stephanie Ward, and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren: Alan Graper, Alexandria Boone, and Delphia Woodall. She also celebrated her role as a great-grandmother to Paisley, Hannah, Joshua, Ashton, and Ritter.

Kaye will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her husband, Steve Grimes; daughters, Kayla Sharlene (Mark) Graper, Stephanie Ward; Grandchildren, Alan (Candi) Graper, Allie (Noah) Boone, Delphia (Cody) Woodall; great-grandchildren, Paisley Graper, Hannah Graper, Joshua Graper, Ashton Boone, Ritter Boone; brother-in-law Barry (Judy) Grimes; sister-in-law Linda Grimes; step-brother, Ronnie Kibler; and many family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Athern and Virginia Gray; step-mother Wanda Gray; sister Pat Baine, step-brother Kenny Kibler; brother-in-law Jerry Grimes.

Funeral Services to honor Kaye's life will be held on Friday, December 13 at 10 AM at Heath Funeral Home, with Pastor Josh Carpenter and Bro Royce Schanda officiating. A Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 12, 6:00 PM, at Heath Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jacob Grimes, Scotty Grimes, Joel Grimes, Brad Baine, Patrick Baine, and Terry Gray.
