Sandra Gail Stephens, 52 of Lafe, went to be with her Savior, Jesus on Friday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, teacher and had a multitude of friends. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Sandra taught 24 years at Oak Grove, was the Paragould School District Teacher of the Year for the 2005-2006 school year, she was a long time youth leader at St. John’s church and a mentor to many. She was past president of the Dorcas Society and secretary of the district Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Stephens; infant brother, Jeffery Stephens and a special nephew, Glen Stephens. Survivors include her mother, Lorene Stephens of Lafe, brothers, Allen (Sheila) Stephens of Chattanooga, TN, Gary (Linda) Stephens of Collierville, TN and Lindel (Janette) Stephens of Owasso, OK., sister, Carol (Gary) Hickingbottom of Paragould. Special uncles, Raymond Hoelscher of Lafe and Thelbert Stephens of Paragould; special aunts, Catherine Gerdes of Jonesboro, nd Loretta Smith of Paragould. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 3:30 P.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Neugebauer officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Harmon, Steve McCluskey, Stacey Speer, Shane Robinson, Jerry Scheer and Greg Gerdes.
