Samuel Stephen Montgomery

Samuel Stephen "Steve" Montgomery, 62, of Paragould, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas, on August 31, 1960, to Betty Long and the late Samuel Delano Montgomery. Steve graduated from Marked Tree High School in 1978 and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis. He married Julie Hyde on December 25, 1989. Steve spent his career as a Civil Engineer. In his spare time, he could often be found in the deer woods. Steve was preceded in death by his father.

Steve is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julie Montgomery; daughter, Kristy Timbs; grandchildren, Morgan, Brayden, Katie, and Chloe Timbs; mother, Betty Long; brother, Lance Morris of Jonesboro; sisters, Stephanie Creech of Branson and Shellee Morris of Jonesboro; and many nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 AM at Heath Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will begin at 11:30 AM at Pine Log Cemetery. Pallbearers are Hubert Griffin, Eddie Griffin, Sam Costner, Josh Costner, Randy Hyde, Randy Hyde II, and Jeremy Hyde.
