Roger Norman

February 14, 1968 — October 28, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Glenn Norman, a beloved member of the Walnut Ridge community, who touched the lives of many with his warm spirit and industrious nature. Born on February 14, 1968, to Carrie Joann Glover Howard and the late Leonard "Ebb" Norman, Roger embraced life with unwavering dedication until his peaceful departure on October 28, 2024.

Roger wore many hats in his life, from his role as a carpenter and working with siding to laboring on the river boat. He spent a majority of his career working at Walmart where he worked alongside his bride, Shelia. Although they were together at least a decade before tying the knot, Shelia and Roger wed on April 11, 2000. Together they enjoyed a life filled with laughter and love. His commitment to his work and his family reflects his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.

Roger's love for his family was unmatched, finding solace in spending precious moments with his wife, Shelia; "our baby" (chihuahua), Daisy; mother, Carrie Howard; children, Gary Davis of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, JJ Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, and daughter, Hailey Davis of Wisconsin, Stephanie (Clifton) Russell of Jackson, Mississippi, Melissa (Robert) Davis and children, Jacob, Michael, Alyssa, Ava, and Jeremiah of Brandon, Mississippi, and Tracy (Derek) Cheatam and children, Lacy, Elijah, Zoe, and Gracelynn of Little Rock; sisters, Mable Poore, Glenda Forbs, and Patricia Whitlow; and many other family and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Leonard "Ebb" Norman; brothers, Kenny Norman and Teddy Norman; sister, Joyce Moya; grandson, Zayden Russell; infant granddaughter, Breanna Davis; in-laws, Elvis and Barbara Cooper; grandparents, Lyman and Bertha Glover; brother-in-law, Clay Poore; niece, Stacy Simpson; and nephew, Jamie Hooks.

Those who knew Roger recognized his passion for the great outdoors, whether casting a line while fishing or trekking through the wilderness on a deer hunting expedition. His enthusiasm for life's adventures brought joy to those around him.

Roger Glenn Norman leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and cherished memories that will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to a dear soul, let us take solace in the beautiful memories we shared and the lasting impact he had on our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
