Robert James Whitow (age 53), of Paragould, AR passed away on Thursday, August 28th. Bob was born July 23rd, 1961 in Rockford, IL. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he was later honorably discharged. Years later he again had the opportunity to help serve his country working for an independent contractor on Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan. Bob married his best friend, Brenda (Dye) on April 9th, 1993. Bob was a loving husband and father. He was a Christian man and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Paragould AR. Bob spent 30 years of his life as an over the road truck driver. He was known by friends as a “true American truck driver”. Driving recently for Silver Arrow Express out of Rockford, IL he had received numerous safety awards as well as “Truck Driver of the Year”. When not driving down the highway he would spend his time with family or riding his Harley. He was survived by dad, Bobby Whitlow of Paragould, wife, Brenda, daughter, Melissa Lisney (boyfriend Gordon Freeman) of Paragould, son, Jonathan (Kim) Whitlow of Mt. Carroll, IL , Carl Lisney (girlfriend Alli Lee) of Loves Park, IL son, Christofer Whitlow of Paragould and daughter, Sarah (Steve) LaBean. As well as grandchildren, Raven, Dillon, Samantha, Ashtin, Annalee, Haiden, Serenity. Preceeded in death by mom, Freeda Whitlow and twin sister, Lisa Overton Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30-12:30 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 P.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. David Stallings officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
