Ricky Don Smith

Ricky Don Smith, 61, of Paragould, passed away Monday, March 02, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born November 18, 1958 in Paragould, to Marcus C.V. and Ruby Smith. Ricky was a loving and supportive father to his son. He retired after working 40 years from L.A. Darling. Ricky was a graduate from the GCT class of 1977. He was also a classic prankster, always having something up his sleeve. Ricky enjoyed playing pool at Percy’s Pool hall, grilling out for his wife and family, while enjoying birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Fred and Eva Willard, Charlie and Bessie Smith; and brothers Leon and Tommy Smith; and brother in law, Bernard Trayler.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Jerri Beaver; son and daughter in law, Joshua and Savanna Smith; sisters and brother in law, Kathryn Trayler, Jo Anne Messer, and Carolyn Cole (Jesse Spencer).

Visitation will be held Friday from 11-1 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 1:00 pm with Rev. Scott Trayler and Rev. Lance Carmer officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers include Joey Trayler, Zachariah Potter, Reese Potter, Trevor Mafnas, Martin Mitchell and Eric Cole.
