Richard Allen "Rick" Jackson, 72, departed this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born on July 26, 1952, in Paragould, to Shirley Jackson and the late Thomas Allen Jackson, Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend to many. He was a longtime resident of Paragould, where he made countless memories and left an indelible mark on his community.
Rick graduated from Paragould High School in 1970, and later married the love of his life, Debbie Watkins, on May 29, 1971. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and joy. He was a dedicated member of Fairview Baptist Church, where he found peace and fellowship within his community.
In his professional life, Rick devoted over 40 years of service to Kroger, where he ascended to the role of manager, earning the respect and affection of his colleagues and customers alike. After a well-deserved retirement, he continued to work with passion and dedication at Orkin for seven years and later at Fairview Automated Burnouts for an additional five years.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman, with a profound love for fishing, hunting, and golfing. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his grandchildren, often playfully aggravating them in the most loving ways, creating memories that will forever remain in their hearts.
He is survived by his beloved bride of 53 years, Debbie Jackson; his devoted mother, Shirley Jackson; his loving children, Thomas (Lauren) Jackson of Paragould and Jamie Lynn (Andrew) Nash of Puryear, Tennessee; grandchildren, Paeten (Kris) Wilson, Kynleigh Jackson, Sadie Jackson, Mackenzie Jackson, Jessica Raymer, Michaela (Eddie) Ivy, and Jaylyn Flood; great grandchildren, Kaiden Wilson, Kannon Wilson, Guinevere Coleman, Bellamy Ivy, and Ozzie Ivy; and sisters, Debbie Maddox of Paragould and Brenda (Keith) Parker of Arlington, Texas; along with a host of family and friends who will miss his infectious smile, warm spirit, and loving nature.
In honor of Rick's life, a funeral service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Dennis Strope officiating. A public visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service. Following the funeral, Rick will be laid to rest at Greene County Memorial Gardens, where family and friends are invited to pay their respects.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Richard Allen Jackson, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the love he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
