Rheba Illene Cothren

Rheba Illene Cothren, 83, of Searcy, passed from this life on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born on December 21, 1938, to the late James "Erwin" and Euna Meddress. She married her love, Jasper Cothren, on December 25, 1956. Rheba received her bachelor's degree from Harding University. She was an elementary teacher for 34 years, most of that was teaching 4th grade in the Searcy Public Schools. Rheba was a HUGE Razorback basketball fan. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and gardening. Rheba was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Doug Meddress.

Survivors include her son, Les Cothren of Searcy; daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Bridges of Quitman, Arkansas, and Eugenia "Jean" Cothren of Searcy; grandchildren, Whitney, Hunter, and Madison Bridges; and great grandson, Wyatt Ware.

A graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10am in Finch Cemetery with Rev. James Huggins officiating.
