Rev. William Lonnie Hood, 65, of Marmaduke, passed away Monday at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock. He pastored for many years, but his greatest love of ministry was in the nursing home. Bro. Lonnie began a nursing home ministry and remained dedicated to that for many years. He was an artist who could draw anything. He also enjoyed woodworking. Bro. Lonnie was always making trinkets or other woodworking items. He was the son to the late Doc William and Mamie Hood. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hood of Marmaduke; sons, Bruce Self and Chris Hood; daughters, Rhonda Maynard and Melissa Gail Rich; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; step dad, John Moody; and siblings, Louise Bickle, Dennis Hood, Roger Hood, Sharon Ezell, and Ricky Hood.
Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Wednesday at 10 am at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne McGill officiating. Burial is in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
