Rev. Max Newton Gregory, 77 of Paragould died on Wednesday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Max received a Bachelors degree in Math and History from Arkansas State University and a Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. Max dedicated his life to Christian service in many capacities. He served as music and educational director at churches in Tennessee and Missouri, Pastor of 1st Baptist Church in Senath, MO, Director of Missions of Little Bon Femme and Current Gaines Baptist Associations. After retiring in 1993, he continued serving as interim pastor at 13 area churches, supplying and preaching revivals. Preceding him in death were his parents, T. R. “Pete†and Lanette Rogers Gregory, brother, H.H. Gregory. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Cato Gregory of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and David Roberson of Owensboro, KY and Laura and Brian Hofmeister of Alto, N.M. Grandchildren, Tyler and Andrea Roberson and Mackenzie and Paige Hofmeister. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at 1st Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Steeger officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
