Reba Joyce Bridges

Reba Joyce Bridges, 83, of Marmaduke, passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 2, 2023. She was born on January 19, 1940, in the Dixie Community to the late Albert and Yvonne Nelms Hale. Reba graduated from Greene County Tech in 1958. On September 27, 1958, she married her dearest love, Charles Bridges. Over the years, Reba worked for Don Perkey Shoe Store, McIntosh Grocery, and Marmaduke Elementary School; however, her main work in life was for her Lord and Savior. She was a servant who loved Jesus. She was a faithful member of Marmaduke First Baptist Church, and she taught Sunday School for many years. Reba could often be found helping with church activities and events. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading Christian fiction novels and playing games on the computer. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray and Mickey Hale; and infant sister, Billie Jean Hale.

Reba is survived by her faithful husband of 65 years, Charles; sons, Bro. Kim (Lana) Bridges and Kelly Bridges, both of Marmaduke; grandchildren, April (Samuel) Winn of Oak Grove, Melani Robles of Madison, Mississippi, Lindsey (Shane) Jordan of Marmaduke, Lauren (Craig) McAlister of Brookland, Bailey (Logan) Blankenship of Jonesboro, Isaac Bridges of Marmaduke, and Emily Bridges of Marmaduke; sisters, Pat Helms and Kay Blackford, both of Paragould; brother, James Hale of Paragould; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great grandchild arriving very soon.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 11-1 at Marmaduke First Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 1 PM with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Pratt, Tony Roberts, Cole Thomas, Kevin Murry, Chad Agee, and Keith Richey.
