Raylene Robertson, age 81 of St. Peters, MO formerly of Sullivan, MO passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO.
Wanda Raylene was born on December 20, 1939 to John “Jack” and Anna “Bee” (Starnes) Staires in Marmaduke, Arkansas. She grew up on the family farm in Arkansas moving to St. Louis at the age of 13. Raylene was a resident of the St. Louis area which included, Ferguson, St. Charles and Hazelwood. She was married to Albert “Duke” LaFleur in St. Genevieve, MO in 1963 and they divorced in 1964. She then married Lawrence Duncan in 1965 and they divorced in 1984. Her last marriage was to Donald Robertson in 1984 in Bridgeton, MO and they remained together until Don’s passing in 2013. Raylene was employed by General Motors in the parts department for over 25 years. In her free time, Raylene enjoyed crocheting and had made many beautiful pieces including several bedspreads. Raylene was a member of Meramec Valley Baptist Church. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Raylene is survived by a step-son, Donald Robertson, Jr. and wife, Cathleen of Arnold, MO; step-grandson, Kyle Robertson; one sister, Lena Beattie of O’Fallon, MO; nieces, Tina Baker of Cameron, MO and Carla Martin of O’Fallon, MO, great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Raylene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ann Bee Staires; her husband, Don; and a nephew, Doug Beattie.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Rick Owens officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, at the Eaton Funeral Home.
There will a visitation at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 with burial in Hartsoe Cemetery, at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Marmaduke, Arkansas.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Raylene are appreciated.
