Randal Garner departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on December 18, 1929, in Paragould, Randal lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his dedication to family, faith, and community.
A proud graduate of Stanford High School in the late 1940s, Randal served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he began a fruitful career as a machine operator at Emerson Electric, from which he retired in 1993 after many years of devoted service.
Randal was a devoted member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, where he found joy in fellowship and service. He was an avid hunter and a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, a love that he shared with his great grandsons, by creating a special "Cardinal" room in their home. He had an adventurous spirit and cherished opportunities to travel, making lasting memories with his beloved family.
In his later years, Randal found companionship and love in marriage to Armolee Oldham Hendrix on November 16, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Armolee; bonus son, Kenneth (Sheri) Hendrix of Paragould; bonus granddaughters, Audra Hendrix and Jennifer (Brian Williams) Hendrix; and bonus great grandsons, Brantley and Preston Hendrix, who will always remember him fondly and carry his legacy in their hearts.
Randal was preceded in death by his parents, W.P. and Alma Mae Garner; his first wife, Frona Day Garner; his brothers, Sanford and Carson Garner; his sisters, Mildred Harvill, Ruby Fitzgerald, Wanna Foster, Lurlene Hyde, and Freddie Shipley; and his bonus son, Robert Hendrix, Jr.
A funeral service to honor Randal's life will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heath Funeral Home. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until service time. Randal will be laid to rest with military honors in Mt. Zion Cemetery, where he will be remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
As we celebrate Randal's remarkable life, we invite all who knew him to join us in mourning his passing and rejoicing in his enduring spirit. May he rest in peace.
