Ralph O. Forbis, 93, of Paragould, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, devotion, and cherished memories.
Born on July 23, 1931, in Paragould, Ralph lived most of his life in the town he loved. After high school, he dedicated himself to a career in construction, with carpentry being his true passion. Ralph took great pride in his ability to build and create, leaving behind a tangible mark on his community. His work extended beyond carpentry, as he also worked at Formost Dairy and drove trucks, showcasing his versatility and strong work ethic. He was known for recognizing the type of cow based on the milk it produced.
A proud veteran, Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. His commitment to service and love for his country were integral parts of his identity. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Paragould, where he contributed to the community and found solace and joy in his faith.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Ralph had a love for the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, a pursuit that brought him peace and connection to nature. Music was another passion, and he delighted in singing southern gospel hymns. A devoted fan, Ralph proudly supported the St. Louis Cardinals, often sharing his enthusiasm for the game with family and friends.
Ralph's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughter, Ralphalene Forbis; son, Ralph (Susan) Forbis; and beloved grandson, Matthew Forbis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Forbis; loving bride, Willadene; precious daughter, Ralanna Lea Erbe; brothers, Leon, George, Jake, and Dwight Forbis; and sister, Magalene Morgan.
Rest in peace, dear Ralph. Your contributions to this world and the love you shared will never be forgotten.
