Rachel Lou Worley, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed from this life on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Rachel was born on January 31, 1940, in Hornersville, Missouri. Her family moved to the Marked Tree area where Rachel graduated from Marked Tree High School in 1958, beginning a remarkable journey that would touch the lives of all those around her. On March 7, 1959, she married the love of her life, Carroll Worley, with whom she shared countless cherished memories and adventures.
A dedicated homemaker, Rachel found joy in simple pleasures, such as reading and watching movies. Her passion for films was evident as she would meticulously tape movies from TV to watch repeatedly. Known for her culinary talents, Rachel's fried pork chops, fried potatoes, and soup beans were favorites among her family, especially her husband.
Rachel will be remembered by all who knew her for her affectionate nature, humble spirit, and unwavering faith. She took great pride in her appearance, always looking forward to her Saturday morning hair appointments. Her commitment to her Baptist faith was a guiding light in her life.
Rachel is survived by her loving spouse of 65 years, Carroll Worley; son, Gary Worley; granddaughter, Lauren (Justin) Roberts; great-grandson, Lawson Roberts; and great-granddaughter, Layla Roberts. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to live on through her family and all those she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Everett "Bill" Roach and Ollie Littlejohn Bolden; daughter, Catherine Jetton; and brother, Billy Joe Roach.
A celebration of Rachel's life will take place at Heath Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm with Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
Rachel's impact on the lives of those around her is immeasurable, and her memory will forever be treasured and honored.
May the light she brought into the world continue to shine brightly, guiding us through moments of darkness and illuminating our path forward.
