Priscilla Maupin LeFevre, 76, departed this life March 15, 2017 at Lexington Place in Jonesboro after a long courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
She was born February 5, 1941 in Marmaduke to Ardena and Earl Maupin. She was raised and educated in Paragould and graduated Paragould High School in 1959.
She graduated from Arkansas State College with a degree in English Literature in 1963. At Arkansas State, she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She continued her education on a Masters in Education at Arkansas State.
Priscilla taught High School English in Farmington, Missouri, Jonesboro, and at Greene County Tech in Paragould. She moved to Memphis and worked at Ford Credit Company then Methodist Hospital in records and later Marriott Hotel in Sales and Catering until she retired.
In Memphis, she met and married her husband, Buell Lynn LeFevre. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death in 2009. Together they enjoyed traveling, gardening, gourmet cooking dinner club, and being members of the British Sports Car Club.
Priscilla was also very talented in playing piano, calligraphy, and flower arranging. She was a qualified judge for flower shows. She and a partner formed a decorating company to decorate for holidays, events, and private homes. They even had the contract for a few years to decorate the famous Peabody Hotel at Christmas.
She was an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee. She enjoyed hosting small group meetings.
Priscilla is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Mickey Brewer of Paragould; sister-in-law, Dianna Vittetoe of Festus, Missouri; two nephews, Mark (Laura) Vittetoe of Everest, Kansas and Brad Brewer of St. Vincent, Arkansas; two nieces, Dorrie Vittetoe of Aurora, Colorado and Carrie (Mark) Brewer Nease of Mission Viejo, California; five great nephews; three great nieces; and one great great niece.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Lexington Place for the kindness, concern, and care given to Priscilla for the last seven years of her life.
As Priscilla wished, she will be cremated. Heath Funeral Home in Paragould is in charge. No services are planned as she wishes to be remembered in her own energetic way. Consider planting flowers or a tree to make the world a more beautiful place and remember her.
