Peggy Joyce Winchester Stephens, 79, of Paragould, and formerly of St. Francis, Arkansas for over 50 years, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Greene Acres Nursing Home. Peggy was born April 8, 1934 in Pine City, Missouri the daughter of the late Denver and Bertha Jackson Smith. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Winchester and sister, Earline Ussery. She was a homemaker, worked formerly at Gossard and Brown Shoe Factory in Piggott, and sold Avon. She and her first husband, Carl, tirelessly volunteered for the Hall/Gravel Hill Cemetery association. She is member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, and was a member of St. Francis Methodist Church where she was song leader for many, many years. Survivors include her husband: Burl Eugene Stephens of the home; daughters: Carol Winchester of Marked Tree, Susan Smith of Paragould; son-in-law: Reggie Smith of Jonesboro; grandson: Matthew Smith of Gilbert, AZ; future granddaughter-in-law: Sybil Thompson; sisters: Phyllis McGruder of Alabama, Shirley Smith of Florida; and brother: Earl Smith of Clarkton, Missouri. The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould. Her celebration of life will follow at 1:00 PM, at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend David Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Francis Hall Cemetery, Saint Francis, AR.
