Peggie Ann Newberry

Peggie Ann Plott Newberry, age 84, peacefully entered heaven on Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. She was born September 29, 1932 to the late Verner and Lucille Thompson Plott in Covington, VA. Peggie, a homemaker and a retired government civil servant, enjoyed writing poetry, reading, singing, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family and beloved cat, Gabby. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg where she loved worshipping the Lord.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tommie Self Newberry, retired US Army Veteran of Lewisburg, TN, five sons, Cecil B. (Julia) Newberry, Guntersville, AL, Tommie Edward (Carla) Newberry, Madison, AL, Robert Allen (Sandra) Newberry, Lewisburg, TN, Richard Earl (Paula) Newberry, Walcott, AR, Roger Charles Newberry, Paragould, AR, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She is reunited with her daughter, Patricia Ann Newberry, her brothers Cecil Plott, Jack Plott and her sister, Betty Sprouse.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home & Crematory from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mrs. Newberry will be transported to Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, AR. Visitation will be held there on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Walcott, AR.
