Paul D. Wilkins

Paul Dewan Wilkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed from this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He entered this world on April 2, 1948, in Paragould. He was born to leave his mark on the world, and he did just that.

Paul began his journey at Greene County Tech, where he excelled academically, graduating with the class of 1966. He further enriched his education by earning an Associates degree in Business from Arkansas State University. Paul was a veteran having served his country in the National Guard. On June 27, 1969, he found his eternal companion, Pam, and together, they created a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

In his earlier days, Paul worked alongside his father and brother in farming, instilling a strong work ethic and a love for the land. He later transitioned into sales, where he flourished, dedicating his time to Barton's and Gazaway Lumber Companies. Paul's success in his career was matched only by his devotion to his family. He treasured every moment shared with them, especially watching his grandchildren playing ball.

A man of faith, Paul found solace and strength in his church community at the Village Creek Church of Christ. He also enjoyed the simpler joys in life, such as fishing in his youth and taking pride in the meticulous care of his yard, a task that brought him great satisfaction.

Paul is survived by his bride of 55 years, Pam; daughter, Angie (Scot) Walker; son, Brian (Julie) Wilkins; grandchildren, Savannah (Tim) Parrott, Sydnie Walker (Matt Pierce), Emma Wilkins, and Harrison Wilkins; great grandchildren, Hudson Parrott and Daisy Kate Parrott; brother, Phillip (Terri) Wilkins; nieces, Annette Carlisle and Amelia Plumlee; and nephew, Phillip Keith Wilkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul O. and Imogene Wilkins, and special uncle, Oral Wilkins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1 pm at Heath Funeral Home with Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kurt Benson, Danny Douglas, Mark Clark, Tim Coy, Andrew Carter, and Dick Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Austin, Terry Melton, Mike Latimer, Dwight Harrison, Bill Grogan, Buck Walker, Jamie Butler, and Barry James.
