Paul Thomas Joiner, 88, of Paragould, passed away Thursday at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Paul was the son of the late John H. and Lillie Petty Joiner. He was an veteran of the United States Army. He served for twenty two years which included two tours in Vietnam. Paul later worked for the Paragould Police Department and later retired from the Greene County Sheriff's Office. He owned two mom and pop stores, Joiner City Market and Joiner's Valley Foods. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; wife, LoVella Hopper Joiner; grandson, Blake Key; son-in-law, Randy Pillow; three sisters, Savanah "Big Sister", Mildred and Geneva; and one brother, Ray.
Survivors include his children, Nancy Pillow of Lafayette, Tennessee, Paul "Eddie" (Zina) Joiner, Belinda Morris (Billy) and Cindy (Phil) Nelson all of Paragould; nephews, Randall Joiner, Clinton Joiner, Lyndon Lindsey and Dean Martin; eleven grandchildren, Dalana, Mariah, Paul Edward, Jennifer, Michael, Courtney, Austin, Samantha, David, Leanda and Kelsi; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Joiner of Texas; friends at Terry's Cafe and many other loved ones.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Clinton Joiner officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Edward Joiner, Jr. Clinton Joiner, Lyndon Lindsey, Randy Joiner, Austin Morris and David Key. Honorary pallbearers are Randall Joiner, Phil Nelson and friends at Terry's Cafe. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, face masks will be required to enter the building and maintaining social distancing of 6-foot between one another.
