It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Gayle Carr, a loving husband, father, brother, cousin, and grandparent on November 7, 2024, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 75. Paul was born in Plant City, Florida, on August 24, 1949, to the late Cleamon and Florence (Fuqua) Carr.
Paul was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and loved to serve. He spent his life dedicated to his family and his community. He created many cherished memories with his children, like watching football with his son and filling the house with music.
As a foster parent for 17 years, he provided love and support to those in need, leaving a lasting impact on many lives. In his spare time, he selflessly coached little league baseball for 5 years, once earning recognition as Manager of the Year. He was also a talented musician, known for his guitar playing and renditions of Hank Williams, Jr. songs.
A proud veteran, Paul served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and continued his service in the Naval Reserve for 5 years. In his youth, he enjoyed street racing in Florida and had a passion for stock cars, spending many weekends at the nearby track.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Carr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Carr of the home, daughter, Tamie (Henry) Nicley of Paragould; brother, Jimmy (Judy) Carr of Baxter, Tennessee; cousin, Larry Kelley of Plant City, Florida; niece, Kimberly (John) Ewing of Cookville, Tennessee; nephew, Tim (Dana) Carr of Baxter; grandchildren, Blayne (Kobe), Hailey, Abbey, and Brody Nicley all of Paragould; and very special home health nurse, Marsha Miller.
