Owen L. Hoskins, Jr.

Owen W. Hoskins Jr., 96, died October 7, 2018 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.


He was born June 12, 1922 in Monette, Arkansas the son of the late Owen W. Sr. and Sudie Hoskins. He attended Arkansas Tech University until he left to join the United States Army Air Corps in 1942. As a Corporal he served in Hawaii and Iwo Jima. After the war he became a farmer and then a milk route salesman for Tastemark Dairy and later Foremost Foods until his retirement.


He lived in Ravenden for several years after retirement where he was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He loved poetry and crossword puzzles. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.


He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Jane (Brandon) Hoskins.


Survivors include three sons: Richard Hoskins (Rebecca) of Paragould, Stephen Hoskins (Margaret), of Bismark, Arkansas, Owen Franklin Hoskins (Marnie) of Pace, Fla. Two grandchildren: Katy McDowell (Shawn) of Paragould and Frankie Rutherford (Kyle) of Sheridan; three great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation will be Friday from 9:00-10:00 A.M. for everyone. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 A.M. in the Heath Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church.
