Ones Edward Rowland, 93 of Paragould died Sunday at his residence. Ones was a retired farmer, owner and operator of Rowland’s Grocery Stores in Stanford and a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Rowland; son, Ronnie Rowland; brothers, Melvin, Ernest, Floyd, Arlis, Elvis and Ellis; sisters, Zelma Beasley, Wassie Beasley, Emma Nell Wright, Fondrell Thurman, and Flossie Thompson. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Minnie Rowland of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Judy Rowland of Stanford; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Foresythe of Las Vegas, NV, Joan Jones of Walnut Ridge, AR and June and Jim Shultz of Walnut Ridge, AR. Grandchildren, Darren, Sean, Gregory, Angela, Todd, Matthew, Laura, David, Christy, Josh, Rusty and Jamie; great grandchildren, Cody, Sarah, Scott, Travis, Trent, Kelsey, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Tiffany, Zachery, Sarah, Maya, Zoe, Kira, Madesyn, Brooklyn, Olivia, Marissa, Kayla, Molly and Madelyn. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews and cousins, great, great great nieces. Ones married Minnie Shipley on April 18, 1942, in Greene County, AR. He went into the service of his country on August 20, 1942 and served overseas for more than three years during World War II. He farmed in the Beech Grove Community and then owned and operated with his wife Minnie, grocery stores at Stanford for many years. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 P.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating.
