Ollie Irene Walden, 95, Paragould, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home. Irene was born June 14, 1917 the daughter of the late J. Ed and Mattie Lee Miller Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Walden, brothers, Cletis and Mack Thompson and an infant sister. Irene was the first female to be a page in the Arkansas Capital at the time her father was a senator. She was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years. She lived in Jonesboro for 47 years before moving to Paragould in 1996. She is survived by her daughter: Marcie Walden; niece and caregiver: Jo Ann Wicker, both of the home and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:00 PM, Thursday, Rev. Wilburn Griggs officiating.
