Nola Mae Potter, 78, of Paragould, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. She was born in Kennett, Missouri, on August 4, 1943, to the late Nolan and Betty Dawson Higdon. Nola spent many years working on a farm. She married Ted Potter in the early 1970s, and they remained married until his passing on May 6, 2008. Nola loved puzzles whether it be crossword or jigsaw. She also enjoyed crafting and trips to Tunica with her sister, Margie. Nola knew her way around the kitchen, and she could make chicken and dumplings unlike anyone else. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Mitchell Luttrell; and brother, David Higdon.
Nola is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Kenny) Weaver of Paragould and Ellen Potter (Billy Mireles) of Marmaduke; granddaughters, Brittany (Kenny) Wright, Amy Weaver, and Hannah Luttrell (fiancé, Chris Ellis); great grandchildren, Ryder Curtis, Kamden Ellis, Aaliyah Morrow, Allison Wright, and Jamison Wright; brothers, Joe Higdon and Gene Higdon; and sister, Margie Despain.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 9:30-11 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 11am with Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kenny Weaver, Kenny Wright, Billy Mireles, Phillip Higdon, Rodney Higdon, and Christopher Higdon. Honorary pallbearers are Ryder Curtis, Pete Higdon, and Gene Higdon. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
