Nellie Imogene Dement

Imogene DeMent passed from this life on December 2 , 2011 at National Health Care in Kennett, Missouri, at the age of 82. She was born September 12, 1929 to Charlie William and Missouri Ann Jackson Walker in Tipperary, Arkansas. She was a charter member of Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Missouri. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harvey Walker and Carl Walker; two sisters, Thelma Woody and Irene Bruner. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Wayne DeMent; one daughter, Margaret DeMent of Paragould, AR; three sons, Dr. Bill (Tammy) DeMent of Bentonville, AR, Doug (Donna) DeMent of Cardwell, MO, and Greg (Tonna) DeMent of Paragould, AR; two grandsons, Aaron DeMent, Matthew (Tabitha) DeMent all of Paragould, AR; two granddaughters, Lori (Charles) Black of Little Rock, AR, Heather (Hugh) Walton of Jonesboro, AR; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan DeMent and Sydney Black. Imogene was a retired teacher, having taught thirty plus years for Southland School District and Williams Baptist College. Teaching was her passion, as she loved to see children and adults learn. She especially loved teaching English and literature. She also taught Sunday School and was the song leader for Calvary Full Gospel Church for many years. She was a dedicated and faithful child of God. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 4th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, AR. The funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 5th, 11:00 AM at Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Missouri, with Rev. Leland DeMent and Rev. Mark McMinn officiating.
