Mildred Faye "Midge" Goad, 84, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Belle Meade Nursing Home. Midge was born on August 21, 1937 in Alicia, Arkansas. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a long-time member of Center Hill Church of Christ. Midge was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over fifty years. Preceding her in death were her mother, Verna Mae (Taylor) Shreeves and step-father, Raymond Shreeves; husband Master Sergeant Grant O. Goad USMC ret,; brothers, Fred Shreeves, Rick Shreeves, Art Shreeves, and Leroy Shreeves; sisters Goldie Bell and Virginia Mae Shreeves; sister-in-law, Marge Shreeves; brother-in-law, Bill Donnelly; and son-in-law, Sonny Ladd.
Survivors include Deborah S. Ladd (daughter) of Leachville, Arkansas, her daughters Katie and Kelsey (granddaughters), Sophia and Maggie (great granddaughters). Son, Wiley Goad (Kim), of Brookland, Arkansas; their children, Grant and Abigail (grandchildren). Brothers, Edward Shreeves (Linda) of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; Bobby Shreeves (Kara), of Mississippi, and Bill Shreeves, of Marmaduke, Arkansas. Sisters, Shirley Kersey (Jerry), of Paragould, Arkansas, Claire Donnelly, of Paragould, Arkansas, and Mary Gardner (Jack) of Kentucky. Sisters-in-law, Jo Shreeves of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin and Sharon Shreeves, of Memphis, Tennessee; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday morning in the Heath Colonial Chapel with Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion cemetery.
