It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvin Lumley, a beloved soul who left this world on December 22, 2024, at the age of 79. Melvin was born on January 5, 1946, in Butler, Pennsylvania, and later called Paragould, Arkansas, his home.
A true character, Melvin had a knack for dressing like a cowboy. He embraced the outdoors and cherished the memories of hunting in his younger days. A hard worker through and through, he dedicated many years working in the railcar industry. His craft was his pride, and he took great joy in the work he did.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lumley and Mary Jane Knoll, and his beloved wife Amy Bitter.
He leaves behind his brother Gene (Denise) Lumley;brother-in-laws Fredrick (Carole) "Rick" J. Bitter Jr., and Gregory John (Michelle) Bitter; niece, Melissa Heller; nephews, Trevor F. Bitter, and Fredrick "Erick" Bitter, all from Butler, PA along with a host of other relatives and friends.
